  • The Spy Next Door

Hong Kong legend Jackie Chan may be comfortably in his fifties, but he still manages to put many of the action genre’s young pretenders to shame with his acrobatics in The Spy Next Door. Targeted at families, Brian Levant’s high-tech comedy marries the martial arts prowess of the leading man with slapstick and cartoon violence.

  • Austin Powers 4 On The Horizon?

A shagadelic bit of news? Or is it as tired as Austin’s sex jokes? We’re not even sure what we’re feeling about this so far, but we have to admit, we’re intrigued. According to Jay Roach, the director of all three Austin outings, the time may have come for the International Man Of Mystery to don those glasses once more.

  • Disney To Make Maleficent Movie

Disney are planning to make a movie from the point of view of the ultimate bad-gal – Maleficent, the woman who curse the beautiful dozy maiden Sleeping Beauty to sleep forever. And she turns into a dragon quite a lot, which is also pretty bad-ass. It’s sounds very Wicked to us (ie the musical that tells The Wizard Of Oz from the wicked witch’s point of view. Not that we’ve seen it. Or own the soundtrack.)

  • I Love You, Phillip Morris

Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor – two great actors that have been somewhat off the radar of late. We’re glad to announced that in uniting in black comedy I Love You Phillip Morris they both show that they’re far from out for the count. • Green Day: The Musical

It’s been revealed today that Tom Hanks and his Playtone production company is currently looking to lock down the film rights to the Green Day musical, which doesn’t even hit the stage until in New York until April 20th. What’s that, you didn’t know there was a Green Day musical? Yeah. Neither did we.

  • Popeye Back On Our Screens?

It’s been leaked today that Sony Pictures plan to bring Popeye the Sailorman back to the cinema in an all-new CGI adventure. A long overdue re-vamp, or another grab at making money off an existing franchise? The choice is yours.

  • Captain America Cast

Hurrah! It’s official! Chris Evans has signed on the dotted line, and is now going to be playing Captain America in the upcoming Marvel flicks.

Well done Chris, you fought off a lot of stiff competition, with other actors considered including Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Mike Vogel, John Krasinski, Chace Crawford and Ryan Phillippe. The only problem now is that we have seen Evans in a super-flick before, as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four. Does it matter?

  • The Bounty Hunter

Jen wasn’t the only one who felt strapped to her seat whilst experiencing The Bounty Hunter. Joyless, clichéd and hackneyed, we never want to watch Gerard Butler in a rom-com again. Do you hear us Gerard? Do you?

  • Sacha Baron Cohen And Isla Fisher Wed

Sacha Baron Cohen (of Ali G, Borat and Bruno fame) and actress Isla Fisher announced that they wed last Monday in a small ceremony in Paris. The couple have been together a goodly while now, with Isla even converting to Judaism in 2007 for the eclectic funnyman after studying for three years. They have a two year old daughter, and felt it was time to finally tie the knot.
