As part of the Sci-Fi-London OktoberFest, The Royal Observatory in Greenwich put on a super special event investigation all things extra-terrestrial. There were masked mutants at every entrance, an alien adventure game and a tour of space from the amazing planetarium. Plus, a special screening of Gareth Edward’s low budget, sci-fi film Monsters finished off the universal evening. Nice.

Poor old Ridley Scott. He’s spending all his time out and about promoting this new Robin Hood movie he’s made with Russell Crow, but all anyone wants to ask him about is the Alien prequel. And now he’s saying the prequel will have a sequel!
So it turns out that, contrary to common belief, the world wasn’t entirely obliterated by alien attacks fourteen years ago. If the rumours emanating from Hollywood are believed to be true, it looks like Will Smith will be reprising the role of Captain Steven Hiller not once, but twice, as 20th Century Fox prepare to announce the sequels to 1996’s Independence Day.
Look out, Hollywood, there’s a storm a-brewin’, and his name’s Bad-Ass Bill Paxton. Yes, the Aliens action king of the ’90s has plans to return to the big screen in the form of a 3D sequel to cheesy disaster flick Twister.
