  • Top 10 Potential Actors for Justice League Batman

With the Justice League set to battle against The Avengers 2 in 2015, there has been much speculation about what form the new Batman will take. As we all know by now, Joseph Gordon Levitt is the most likely candidate, considering the end of The Dark Knight Rises, but that’s soooo obvious. Disregarding the hearsay on our boyo Joseph Gordon Levitt, we at BFF Towers have opted for outright guesswork, based on a solid foundation of lunacy. Here are our choices for the new Batman!

  • Friday Drinking Game #52 – Batman

Where were you at 6am this morning? Queuing up to be one of the first people in the UK to see The Dark Knight Rises at the IMAX? Sounds like that level of commitment to the caped crusader deserves a drink. Or two. Or three. Or a whole liverful of drinks dedicated to Batman in this week’s Friday Drinking Game…

  • Top 10 Unlikely Dark Knight Rises Villains

There’s only one villain who has really been the salsa on the Old El Batman enchilada, and that’s the Joker. Between Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, that role is all sewn up, and we pray no one ever touches it again. Ever. However, with Tom Hardy’s Bane looking legitimately bed-wettingly scary, we at BFF Towers wondered why so many of Batman’s other enemies didn’t make the cut. From Anarky to Calendar Man, let us take you through what could have been, if Nolan’s films had been intended for the Disney Channel.

Picking up speed now, aren’t we? A week after prologue screenings began, team Nolan has decided that it’s time to unleash the full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises . Now that we’ve had a chance to change our trousers, all that’s left to do is study it in intense, totally-not-obsessive-probably detail. Brethren: prepare thine eyes. The ending has begun.

At the age of 23, Kenton Bartlett has written, filmed, directed and produced a feature length film. Whilst taking some time out from making the rest of us feel inadequate, Bartlett has kindly agreed to give us the inside scoop on the making of Missing Pieces. This is one for all you budding directors out there – but be warned, making a film isn’t as easy as it looks…

  • Six Fads That Are Arguably Stunting Cinema

Going to the cinema can be a frustrating experience – not least because of the disproportionate number of mouth-breathers championing drivel, but also thanks to the shocking lack of choice on offer. How many times must my eyes be popped? Since when was randomness any substitute for jokes? Will Spider-Man ever get past the third instalment? I explore the six fads currently crippling cinema.

  • Top 3 Indie Directors Gone to Hollywood!

This week saw the first teaser trailer for the last instalment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, and we here at Best For Film were…well, there was a feeling that we’d seen it all before. The gloomy Gotham-scape, mumbled dialogue, lots of shadows and buildings and shiny digital compositions. It’s slick, and it’ll probably turn out to be a good end to a so-far great trilogy, but a tiny part of us was thinking: “It’s not as good as Memento, is it?”. Still, Nolan isn’t the first indie director to be lured in by the lights and financial muscle of Hollywood, as this handy list will attest to.
