    Kim Catrall has got Sex and The City fans all a-flutter once again today by hinting that there may well be a third movie. The trailer for the second film was released last week (and you can view it here), and with all the hype surrounding it there’s probably never been a better to stir up some rumours. Despite strong rumours to the contrary last week, marriage-addict Dame Elizabeth Taylor has denied that she is to wed her manager Jason Winters. In equally as shocking news, Taylor, 78, announced her non-engagement via that well known pensioner-friendly website, Twitter. The mind truly boggles.


  • Footloose Remake Kicks Off (its Sunday Shoes)

    Could it be? Kevin Bacon back in our hearts, where he belongs? Maybe not. But the story that made him famous; that of a teenager who discovers that his new hometown has outlawed rock music and dancing, might very well be back on our screens. And who’s heading it up? Non other than Black Snake Moan’s Craig Brewer.


  • Seth McFarlane comedy film in works – Hollywood watch out!

    Having conquered the small screen, it seems that Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane has turned his attention to the big screen with his upcoming debut movie, Ted. Described as a “Hard R” comedy about a man and his teddy bear (yes ladies and gentlemen, you read that right), Ted is rumoured to be a live-action meets CGI movie in the vein of Alvin and the Chipmunks (except miles, miles better of course).


  • Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thrilby confirmed for The Darkest Hour

    Following on from the news last week that Olivia Thrilby (Juno) had signed on for The Darkest Hour, we can confirm that Emile Hirsch (Milk) has also hopped on board. The Darkest Hour, yet another in a long line of alien invasion movies, sees a group of US tourists in Russia attempting to defeat a pack of alien invaders (how original we hear you cry!).

    Hooray! The return of Hollywood’s most bad-ass mother is nigh, as the trailer for the new Samuel L Jackson movie Unthinkable hits the web. Directed by Gregor Jordan, the movie also features the talents of Michael Sheen (The Damned United) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix trilogy).


  • A Nightmare on Elm Street remake – new poster revealed

    Cover your eyes! The terrifying new poster for the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake proclaims that we’ll “never sleep again” and we here at Best for Film are genuinely quaking in our boots at the prospect. The slasher series, which spawned such classic cult movies as A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and Freddy vs. Jason, is being revived yet again. Spooky.

    As Sarah Jessica Parker and co prepare themselves for a return to the silver screen this summer, Universal have kindly gone and released a brand-spanking new Sex and the City 2 trailer. Following on from 2008’s massively successful Sex and the City, this summer’s most anticipated must-see chick flick sees the continuation of the fab foursome’s New York escapades.


  • Dynasty star Christopher Cazenove dies

    The actor Christopher Cazenove, best loved for his work in the 1980s American soap Dynasty, has died after a battle with sceptecaemia. He contracted the disease in February and since then had been fighting it in St Thomas’s hosptial in London. His agent released a statement on behalf of his family and girlfriend stating that he “died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones”. He was 66 years old.
