Burton in a whole new realm with biopic story

At the age of 23, Kenton Bartlett has written, filmed, directed and produced a feature length film. Whilst taking some time out from making the rest of us feel inadequate, Bartlett has kindly agreed to give us the inside scoop on the making of Missing Pieces. This is one for all you budding directors out there – but be warned, making a film isn’t as easy as it looks…

Is it just us, or is Peter Sarsgaard in ALL THE MOVIES at the moment?

But alas, the drugs don’t work anymore, and my fix of pure unadulterated fun has been laced with nasty morally-warped drudgery. What’s that I hear? Oh it’s just Nora Ephron weeping.

Someone once said ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. Well the old rom-com formula isn’t really broke, but this film tried to fix it anyway, by inserting a huge lump of cancer into the plot. Romance, laughs, dates and cancer- oh dear, who honestly thought this formula was ever going to work?

James Franco proves once again that he is the busiest man in Hollywood, and that he has a healthy interest in porn… biopics that is.

If you’re already aware of The Killer Inside Me, chances are you’ll almost certainly know of it as “that film where Casey Affleck beats seven shades of blue out of Jessica Alba’s face.” You don’t have to wait long to find out that you have not been lied to. Indeed, if The Killer Inside Me sets out to make audiences feel uncomfortable, then it is an undeniable success. But does the film have anything else noteworthy to offer us?
