  • Cheat Sheet: Joseph Gordon-Levitt

With both bicycle courier nightmare Premium Rush and bonkers sci-fi feast Looper on the horizon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is fast becoming one of Hollywood’s premier leading men. But what of the man himself? What do we really know? One thing’s for sure… we have to go deeper.

  • Cheat Sheet: Karl Urban

With that sculpted jaw, flowing mane and piercing blue eyes, up and coming actor Karl Urban is set to become a household name after starring in this summer’s hotly anticipated Judge Dredd. Fresh from appearing in a slew of epic fanboy sagas, he has a lot of experience in physical roles and is prepared to go further than the average actor to achieve the physical authenticity necessary to convince countless audiences that he is all too capable of kicking some serous ass. After getting a look at those impressive biceps in Judge Dredd, we don’t doubt it.

  • Cheat Sheet: Richard Ayoade

Richard Ayoade is set to make his big blockbuster debut in The Watch this Friday and… what? Whaddaya mean, you don’t know who Richard Ayoade is? He’s only one of the most talented writers, directors and actors in the UK! Fine, yes, he’s that guy from The IT Crowd. Let’s talk Ayoade…

  • Cheat Sheet: Jeremy Renner

Back on our screens for what feels like the umpteenth time this year, Jeremy Renner aims to take over from Matt Damon in The Bourne Legacy. Whether life imitates art and the actor finds himself at the centre of another, very real mission impossible, you should probably swat up on The Other Avenger as it looks like he’s undoubtedly here to stay.

  • Cheat Sheet: Zac Efron

The Zefron is a bit of a dark horse these days; after seeming set for lifelong underage vaginal domination around 2006, when that guiltiest of guilty pleasures came out, High School Musical, he just didn’t take off from Disney quite as drastically as anyone expected. There was a time when he would have been anyone’s first bet for the male leads in things like Avatar – instead, he seems perpetually dissatisfied and cannot decide what he wants. We at BFF do like a mysterious one, so let’s have a wee look.

  • Cheat Sheet: Danny DeVito

The Lorax opens on Friday, with the eponymous orange land guardian voiced by Danny DeVito, just as he is in the Spanish, German, Italian and Russian version, which is impressive in anyone’s book. You’ve got til Saturday to catch him in his West End debut The Sunshine Boys with Richard Griffiths. 100% of the people we asked described it as “utterly, painfully tedious”, so make of that what you will. In the meantime, have yourselves a little cheat sheet…

  • Cheat Sheet: Queen Latifah

Fresh off her positively beatific performance in Glee-does-gospel movie Joyful Noise opposite Dolly Parton, we’ve chosen to turn our gaze onto Queen Latifah for this week’s Cheat Sheet, on the basis that most of the BFF team haven’t a clue why we like her so much. And we’re afraid that God won’t love us anymore if we don’t, since He can be a real son of a baptist about these things.

  • Cheat Sheet: Channing Tatum

It has been suggested that Channing Tatum is something akin to Upstairs, Downstairs brought to life; Upstairs is fine, but Downstairs is where all the fun stuff is at. With his unparalleled wuzuquan kung fu skills winning him the ‘Most Athletic’ award from Tampa Catholic High School, in addition to his Best Fight MTV Movie Award nomination (he was robbed by that useless arrow-slinging bint Jennifer Lawrence), not only is this clearly patently untrue, but frankly insulting for an actor of Tatum’s quality and talent. Allow this Cheat Sheet to show you why.

  • Cheat Sheet: Bruce Willis

He’s got another phenomenally ill-advised comedy out this week – but don’t judge Bruce Willis on his increasingly mad career choices, judge him on the time he sent twelve thousand boxes of cookies to Iraq. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Better read on, or you’re liable to be left VERY red-faced at your place of work’s (probably) annual Walter Willis quiz night!

  • Cheat Sheet: Alec Baldwin

This Wednesday marks the release of Rock of Ages, a film in which raspy-voiced funny man Alec Baldwin shares what is being touted as a “sensual song and a kiss” with our very own Russell Brand. In honour of this erotic occasion, BFF is taking a look back at the life, loves and career of our favourite Baldwin brother (sorry Daniel, Billy and Stephen).
