Yes, he finds himself perpetually playing the same zero-to-hero role, but if it the down-on-his-luck-loser-inevitably-finds-success-and-the-girl formula ain’t broke then why fix it? Do you remember the 80s film Tron? Well, unless you’ve been stranded on a desert island with Tom Hanks as your only friend you’ll know that Disney are planning on bringing the classic retro film to the modern age. The new tron, Tron Legacy is due to be released on December 26th in the UK but so confident are Disney of its success that they have already got writers working on the sequel.

British actress Tilda Swinton stars in this Italian film about the trials and tribulations of a wealthy family in Milan. Swinton, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2007 for her performance in Michael Clayton, has starred in a string of hit movies in recent years, including the Coen Brothers’ Burn After Reading and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Recession? What recession? In the UK 3D films How To Train Your Dragon and Clash Of The Titans have smashed box office takings, making the Easter weekend the second most lucrative in the past 12 months.

The Hollywood assault upon 3D cinema looks set to continue unabated (this time with added bite) as former stuntman David R. Ellis announces that he has signed up to direct forthcoming horror film Shark Night 3D. The title, which leaves little to the imagination, will no doubt be looking to avoid comparisons with the film so bad that the use of 3D in cinema was shelved for 20 years, 1983’s universally-panned Jaws 3-D.

Winning the Camera D’Or at Cannes, the Australian movie directed by Warwick Thornton tells us the story of two Aboriginal teenagers living in the Australian outback. Although barely a word is spoken between the two main characters, Delilah and Samson begin an affectionate relationship when faced with the hardships of living in absolute poverty.

OK, we’ve been promised that this time, this time, is the final venture out into the world of Toy Story 3 marketing before the film hits us this summer. Admittedly, team Pixar have dragged out this campaign for as long as they possibly could, drip feeding us pictures of new characters, posters and little hints as to possible story for months now. The most infuriating thing is that… we bloody love it.

Good news comic book fans! With the Iron Man 2 film due for release at the end of this month, the official website has been given a fancy new makeover. New Iron Man wallpapers, screensavers and on-set pictures are now available, as well as extracts from the much anticipated AC/DC soundtrack.
