And they’re pun-tastic. Which, frankly, is all we ever really want from our ogre-based entertainment. In the wake of the massive marketing push for Toy Story 3, it’s almost easy to forget that Shrek 4 is also nudging ever closer to our screens, albeit in a slightly less noisy way. The story, as far as we can tell, will follow Shrek making a Faustian pact with Rumplestiltskin, to see what life would be life if Shrek never existed.
And it looks freakin awesome. Making a motion picture based on the absolutely brilliant Scott Pilgrim comic series was going to be a risk. But judging by the trailer, it looks like it’s going to pay of
So we’re off to watch Kick Ass on Monday, and we reckon it’s only fair that we give you the low-down on what the critics are saying about it so far, before we give our own (infinitely superior) opinion.

Earlier in the year we reported that Emma Thompson was writing a re-make of the Audrey Hetburn classic My Fair Lady, but back then the front runner for the main role was Keira Knightley. Acclaimed actor and screen writer Robert Culp died yesterday on Wednesday 25 March after falling near his home in Los Angeles.
With the massive success of Wicked – the musical that tells The Wizard Of Oz from the Wicked Witch’s point of view, and the announcement that Disney plan to release a film about Malificent – the witch from Sleeping Beauty, it seems everyone wants to take a fresh look at an old tale. Screw the good guys, it’s all about the other side of the coin.
If at first you don’t succeed, fail miserably again. Three years after the crass and homophobic comedy Wild Hogs, Robin Williams and John Travolta reunite with director Walt Becker for this chaotic road movie that proves parenting is a lot harder than it looks. So, it would seem, is writing and directing a film that retains a single laugh, because Old Dogs is 88 tortuous minutes of limp gags missing easy targets.
