  • Top 10 Cults in Film

Cults! Can’t live with ’em, can’t run away from ’em without being burnt alive as a human sacrifice to the pleasure gods. Over the years, cults – with all their hifalutin child eating and wicker brandishing – have inspired many a filmmaker to get their crazy deeds up on the big screen. And, as seen most recently in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, they’re still hot stuff. So, in honour of the release of PTA’s film, but mainly because BY THE BEARD OF THE HARVEST GOD we love a good sacrificial killing, BFF presents you with the Top Ten Cults in Film. Warning: contains boobs and fire, obviously.

  • The Ghost Writer

For a film about the re-writing a political memoir, it’s rather ironic that the screenplay for Roman Polanski’s thriller should be one of its weaknesses. Characters are not fully formed in a script co-written by Polanski and Robert Harris, adapting his novel of the same name. Indeed, they are ciphers in a clunky and contrived plot that builds to a big reveal, which would be risible in less accomplished hands.

  • Kim Cattrall: From Manhattan To Liverpool…?

Despite the recent success of Sex And The City 2, it seems that it isn’t all stumbling around the Sahara desert and sipping cocktails for Kim Cattrall. But it seems that the negative press has failed to affect box office power. What’s the story here, then?

  • Pixie Lott turns actress

Along with the always cool Sam Rockwell, Kim Catrall and Bette Midler, Pixie will be starring in The Second Coming, a comic re-vamping of the traditional nativity, in which a young pregnant girl travelling to Bethlehem – Maryland USA, discovers that the second coming of Jesus is imminent. Rockwell is set to play her boyfriend Joe, Kim Catrall will be playing her mother, and Bette Midler will be taking the part of the innkeeper. Or something.

  • Sex And City 3?

Kim Catrall has got Sex and The City fans all a-flutter once again today by hinting that there may well be a third movie. The trailer for the second film was released last week (and you can view it here), and with all the hype surrounding it there’s probably never been a better to stir up some rumours. That cunning minx.
