  • Whip It

Whip It is to feminism what GPS systems are to driving: a voice confidently telling you you’re on the right road, whilst you can’t help but stare around wildly, wondering where the hell you are. Sexy, grubby and exciting to watch, Whip It is certainly a cut above your average chick-flick and we’re happy to roll their way, though we’re not totally sure where they’re taking us.

  • The Hangover that won’t go away…

For fans of 2009’s smash hit The Hangover it’s time to rejoice, as we can confirm that the original movie’s troublesome trio of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis have all signed up for the film’s sequel. Despite earlier hesitance from the movie’s stars to commit to the sequel, it is proposed that shooting for The Hangover 2 will commence sometime in July, with Cooper reportedly so eager to commence filming that he has pulled out of rom-com This Means War (which was also due to commence filming in July).

  • The Bounty Hunter

Jen wasn’t the only one who felt strapped to her seat whilst experiencing The Bounty Hunter. Joyless, clichéd and hackneyed, we never want to watch Gerard Butler in a rom-com again. Do you hear us Gerard? Do you?

  • Burton Announces Next Project

It’s going to be a rom-com. That might be a lie. Tim Burton has today announced that his next project will be a stop-motion picture of The Addams Family. Kooky, creepy, dark and gothic fairytale? Tim, are you sure you want to stretch yourself this far?

  • An Education

It’s always refreshing when a thinking person’s rom-com comes around. An Education is not only beautifully constructed, but with wonderful performances, a tight script and questions of love that are difficult to wriggle out of, it’s a film that really grips its audience. Charming, sleek and funny, it’s hard not to be won over by this twisted romance. Just be careful, if we’ve learnt anything, its the danger of the power of seduction.
