The One Direction film – otherwise known as One Direction: This Is Us – is officially out in cinemas! Directed by Morgan ‘Supersize Me’ Spurlock and charting the boys’ meteoric rise to fame from their humble beginnings as mere children, the film looks set to break box office records and the hearts of perma-sobbing tweens everywhere.
Generally speaking, being funny on the Internet doesn’t pay very well. So we were delighted when the good folks at Music Magpie, a basically invaluable service for anyone whose house is full of DVDs in exactly the same way that their wallet isn’t full of money, offered to sponsor one of our blogs. Since they’re helping keep BFF afloat, why not check them out and see how much you could rake in for your unwanted DVDs, CDs and games?
From decapitation via samurai sword to snake attack, how many deaths has Tarantino actually caused?
The release of Gangster Squad has got us reminiscing about our favourite screen mobsters, and we thought it was about time someone lent a voice to the most unsung criminal masterminds in film. But don’t go looking for Goodfellas and Godfathers – we’ve excluded Scorsese, because his characters are a whole top 10 on their own. NO MORE shall these forgotten bandits be ignored. Who’s the most ruthless, the most unsung gangster of them all? (Some of these are cartoons, by the way. What does that tell you about your childhood?)
Can we bombard Jessica Alba with gamma rays until she disappears? A couple minutes on high should get the job done.
With the building anticipation of Django Unchained, Best For Film was invited down to the unparallelled Prince Charles Cinema just off Leicester Square in London to enjoy every single Quentin Tarantino directed film back-to-back. Although the prospect of a 15 hour cinema session might seem as bad as what Zed does to Ving Rhames, it’s all in a day’s work for us here at the Best For Film World Headquarters. Here’s to our next 15 hour marathon at the PCC!
Except it’s not a real trilogy at all. Just three films that are a bit similar. Look, it’s a slow news day, alright?
Steve Buscemi hasn’t had a major role in a big Hollywood film for a while, having been busy running the illegal liquor trade in 1920s Atlantic City on television’s Boardwalk Empire. He is, however, providing his distinctive vocals to this week’s release, Hotel Transylvania, voicing Wayne the werewolf. In light of this, what better time to remind everyone how great the world’s favourite Reservoir Dog is?
