Based on real life events, Richard Linklater’s black comedy Bernie has somehow only just made it to Britain despite premiering way back in 2011; we don’t even remember when 2011 was. Fresh and funny without getting complicated (we know how you hate complicated things) Bernie is well worth a watch – after all, how often do you get to see Matthew McConaughey with his shirt on?
This week’s movie releases includes the Jack Black helmed Bernie. The reappearance of this lovably rotund gentleman got us thinking: what do we really know about this intrepid comedian? True his name has been a familiar sight to us for a number of years now but does that mean we actually have a line on the man that lies behind it? Probably not! So here it is! A nice compact little compilation of facts that will come to the rescue in any given Jack Black-related situation. No, no, no need to thank us! It was our pleasure!
Parker is out soon, and if you’ve seen the trailer/moody-ish poster you’ll know that singer Jennifer Lopez is in it, starring alongside rent-a-hardman Jason Statham. This isn’t the first film J-Lo has been in. To be honest, we’re not sure why that keeps happening. And to make things even more dire, Lopez has threatened revealed she would like to take on more acting roles due to her ‘great experience’ working with Statham on set. But Jen’s not the only one who should just slip away quietly back into the recording studio AND STAY THERE.
Lincoln sweeps up, with Django Unchained and Argo right behind it!

Jack Black playing a tubby, likeable character again. Except this time he has a delightfully dark little secret.
What do the pink-footed goose, the snowy owl, Owen Wilson, the magpie, the greater spotted woodpecker, Jack Black, the skua, the great grey owl, Steve Martin and more than seven hundred other birds have in common? They’re all in The Big Year, a truly inexplicable film about more twitching than you’d get if you electrocuted a person who was already very twitchy. Somehow or other, it’s not that bad.
