The Marvel juggernaut continues to gather pace with Captain America, its latest multi-million dollar trailer for The Avengers. Whilst this WWII epic may not have the unselfconscious clobbering grace of Thor, it delivers its payload of explosive entertainment with just enough jingoism to make you feel dirty. Rollicking good fun.
Recessions are rubbish, that’s pretty much a given. However, there is one distinct upside to the spectacular financial crash which has bankrupted and disenfranchised millions in the last four years; some really bloody good films have come out of it. We’ve had Up in the Air, Inside Job – and now The Company Men, which will make you empathise with a hugely well-paid executive more than you would have thought possible.
Yesterday we reported that Alec Baldwin may be set to join upcoming threequel, Men in Black III. Are Tamara Drewe star Gemma Arterton and District 9‘s Sharlto Copley set to follow suit?
Though we know from somewhere deep within the dangers of getting too excited about Men In Black 3, our bruised little hearts just can’t help beating a little faster whenever we hear it mentioned. With the news that glorious human Emma Thompson has joined the already stellar cast, could it be that our excitement is justified? Only time will tell…
