What with Toby Jones playing Alfred Hitchcock in a new TV drama, there’s only question on everyone’s minds: who wins Best Hitchcock Impersonator, Toby Jones or Anthony Hopkins? The new biopic of the ‘Master of Suspense’ is certainly stylish, but lacks plausibility as it introduces a fictitious storyline between Hitchcock’s wife and Whitfield Cook. That being said, it’s entertaining and breathes new life into Alma Reville, ‘the woman behind the man’.

Jessica Chastain has been in over a dozen films in the two years since she appeared on our radar in Take Shelter in 2010. This year she received her second Oscar nomination, for her portrayal of the CIA agent who found Osama Bin Laden in Zero Dark Thirty. She also won a Golden Globe for the role. This flame-haired beauty continues to impress us as she turns out wonderful performance after wonderful performance. Is there nothing she can’t do?

Despite the controversy surrounding Zero Dark Thirty (including an Oscar nomination boycott), Kathryn Bigelow’s latest politically-charged war drama still managed to bag 4 Golden Globe awards and bring in $24 million in its opening weekend. Zero Dark Thirty is intelligent, well-documented and manages to tug on our heartstrings whilst presenting us with the cold hard facts. Be that as it may, the film can sometimes feel like a prolonged episode of a TV drama that never quite surpassed its pilot.
