  • TGIM: Made In 3 Mills Film Festival

While the London Film Festival is getting under-way elsewhere in the capital, there’s a much more intimate celebration of film occurring elsewhere. Hidden away in the depths of East London is the 3 Mills film studio, which has become something of a home-from-home for stop-motion animation, and has attracted its share of big live action film-makers too, in recent years. They’re hosting a four-day event to celebrate their output.

  • Friday Drinking Game #59 – Time travel

Everyone loves a time-travel movie. Everyone. It’s the ultimate dream; to be able to flit back through time and tell your younger self to stop after the sixth Jägerbomb; to flit forward in time and find out the lottery numbers; to visit the dinosaurs (ill-advised) or our inevitably dystopian future (iller-advised). Of course, it’s all fantasy, and the fact that it’s impossible causes all sorts of consternation among nerds, who try and puzzle the various internal logics of such films until the wee small hours. Time-travel movies are great; but they’re also bloody confusing.

  • Best For Film’s Favourite Flicks #4 – Galaxy Quest

Our shamelessly self-indulgent feature BFFFF continues with Kayleigh Dray, Best For Film’s most prolific contributor and the only person we’ve ever met who can narrowly avoid a mugging, injure herself pole-dancing and have someone start photographing her on a train in the same afternoon. • Orange(Wednesday)s and Lemons #88

The UK might be in the midst of taking a severe battering from Mother Nature (after all we do for her?), but in the world of Best For Film, we don’t let that dampen our spirits. What better excuse to take a trip to the cinema than to avoid the pissing rain? And on that note…

In honour of the release, we delve beneath the alabaster skin and bright blue eyes to bring you everything you ever wanted to know about the child star turned poised young woman.

  • TGIM! Safar Arab Cinema Festival

It’s a fair bet you’re not going to be popping over to Kew Gardens anytime soon so why not take this opportunity to educate yourself on the undiscovered terrains of Arabic cinema? There will be discussions and screenings galore and a daring selection of Arabic film to cut your cinematic tooth on. Thank God it’s Monday!

  • Friday Drinking Game #58 – Self Love

After a long and challenging week it’s finally Friday. The weekend is nigh and it’s the perfect time to indulge in a good old drinking game. But this is not just any old drinking game. No. For this drinking game you’ll need to be as unflappable and calm as James Bond, because if not there’s a chance this could get a little out of hand.

  • Top 10 naked royals in film

Prince Harry has been papped cupping his Crown Jewels in Las Vegas. Kate Middleton has been photographed showing off her Queenly wares in France. Prince William has… well, he hasn’t really done anything interesting. Apart from lose his hair. In short, the Royals have wandered over to the dark side and, to celebrate their rebellion, we’ve decided to take a (potentially NSFW) look back over some of the baddest, most naked, most scandalous royals ever to grace the silver screen.

  • Orange(Wednesday)s and Lemons #87

Winter is coming, the interns are getting fat (not really, guys) and beneath our protective layers of wool and goosefat we’re seeking the protection of Best For Film Towers’ roaring fires and roasting oxen. But there is no room in the great hall for a writer who won’t serve his turn on the walls, so here we are again to warn you of the cinematic ogres in your path.
